Prize Draw and Competition Compliance
As experts in Prize Draw Compliance Luke ARC have provided advisory services to some of the biggest players in the UK Prize Draw market. We have been actively advising Prize Draw and competition operators on the DCMS ‘Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators‘ since its conception and have advised on the requirements for many Prize Draw operators.
Those willing to become signatories to the code can do so by emailing DCMS at prizedrawcode@dcms.gov.uk . Requirements of the Prize Draw Voluntary Code are split into three areas. These are Player protections, Transparency and Accountability. Luke ARC can help ensure compliance with all areas of the code and also assess all other areas of Prize Draw compliance.
Prize draws do not require a licence under the Gambling Act 2005 because they offer a free entry route. Where prize draw operators offer both a free entry route it must be presented in a compliant manner.
By comparison, competitions must rely on the skill, judgement or knowledge of the participants. This must be sufficient to deter a significant amount or participants from entering, or a significant amount of entries from winning a prize.

Compliance Assessments against the DCMS Prize Draw Voluntary Code
